After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Julie Pasturaud made her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival in Macbeth, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and directed by Richard Jones, there she sang as well in David McVicar’s Carmen and in the new production of L’Enfant et les Sortilèges directed by Laurent Pelly.

For the past 20 years, her international carreer has taken her to leading stages, London (Barbican, Royal Festival Hall) , Paris (Radio France, Pleyel, Philharmonie de Paris, Opéra de Paris), Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpellier, Cologne, Rome, Moscow, Munich, Geneva, Stockholm, Monaco, Edinburgh…

She has collaborated with numerous conductors, Sir Colin Davis, Leonard Slatkin, Kazushi Ono, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Charles Dutoit, Stéphane Denève, Mikko Franck, Kazuki Yamada. Michael Schønwandt, William, Christie, Marc Minkowski, Fabio Luisi, Edward Gardner… and the stage directors Jean Bellorini, Robert Carsen, David McVicar, Laurent Pelly, Dominique Pitoiset, Marie-Eve Signeyrole, Christof Loy…

Gifted with a strong stage personality and a great musicality, she excells in a large range of repertoires and sings in Hippolyte et Aricie, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, I Puritani, Lucia di Lammermoor, La Fille du régiment, Cendrillon, Lakmé, Falstaff, La Traviata, Rigoletto, La Forza del destino, Gianni Schicchi, Orphée aux Enfers, Die tote Stadt, Die Walküre, Ariadne auf Naxos, Pelléas et Mélisande, Dialogues des Carmélites, Les Mamelles de Tirésias

She is regularly invited for concerts and sings  : Beethoven Symphony No. 9, La Demoiselle élue, Les Nuits d’été, Mozart Requiem, Jeanne au bûcher

Recently, she sang Les Mamelles de Tiresias in Glyndebourne, Cendrillon (Madame de la Haltière) at the Opéra de Limoges and the Taiwan Opera, La Forza del destino and Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opéra de Paris, La Cenerentola at the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse, Dialogues des Carmélites (Madame de Croissy) in Liège, Barbe-Bleue by Offenbach at the Opéra de Lyon and the Opéra de Lausanne, Le Comte Ory at the Opéra de Québec, Eugene Onegin in Nancy, Louise by Charpentier at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and the Opéra de Lyon, La Forza del Destino at the Chorégies d’Orange, Cavalleria Rusticana in Montpellier, Robinson Crusoé by Offenbach at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, in Angers, Nantes and Rennes, Faust at the Opéra de Tours and at the Opéra royal de Versailles…
