Christophe Gay

After his debut at the Opéra de Nancy in Luigi Dallapiccola's Il Prigioniero, Christophe Gay quickly made a name for himself on the main French and international stages: Opéra Comique, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, at the Operas of Lyon, Lille, Nantes, Rouen, Toulon, Avignon, Strasbourg but also in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Brussels and at the Glyndebourne Festival.

His wide repertoire includes numerous productions of baroque operas such as Iphigénie en Tauride, L'Orfeo, Platée, Castor et Pollux, Dido and Aeneas, and he has also been entrusted with numerous roles in the Mozart repertoire (Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte).

He is also solicited in the repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries. Let us mention his performances in Carmen, Rigoletto, Lakmé, Madama Butterfly, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Wozzeck, Candide, L'Étoile, Les Mamelles de Tirésias...

Recently, he appeared in La Traviata, Yvonne, princesse de Bourgogne and Iphigénie en Tauride at the Opéra National de Paris, Madame Butterfly in Orange and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Offenbach's Barbe-bleue in Lyon, Carmen and Don Giovanni aux enfers at the Opéra National du Rhin, Robert le cochon et les kidnappeurs at the Opéra Comique Ariadne au Naxos in Limoges, Les Mamelles de Tirésias at the Glyndebourne Festival, La Princesse de Trébizonde with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Coups de roulis with Les Frivolités parisiennes, L’Heure espagnole with Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, Roméo et Juliette in Québec and Don Giovanni aux enfers

Among his recent and future projets: La Chauve-souris at the Opéra de Lille, Fortunio in Lausanne, La Vie parisienne and Carmen in Québec, Giuditta at the Opéra National du Rhin and in Lausanne.
