Born in Strasbourg, France, Antoinette Dennefeld’s artistic education began at a very young age, and included piano, theatre and dance. After two years at the University Marc Bloch in Strasbourg, she enters the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne in 2006. During her studies, she participated in masterclasses with Dale Dusing, Christa Ludwig and Luisa Castellani. She received the Mosetti grant two times (2008-2010) and the Richard Wagner scholarship (2009).

She graduated from the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne and received her Master of Music (Voice) in 2011 with high honors. For her excellent results, she received the Max Jost Award, Friends of the OSR Award and the Paderewski Prize. Teh same year, she won the «Grand Prix» at the International Singing Competition of Marmande and the Third Prize and Public’s Choice at the International Singing Competition of Geneva. She also received in 2011 an advanced career development grant from the Leenaards Foundation.

She made her debuts at the Opéra de Lausanne wher she was Die zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, The second witch in Dido and Aeneas, Zulma in L’Italiana in Algeri, Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette by Gounod but also Fanny Elssler in L’Aiglon by Honegger/Ibert. At the Opéra de Marseille, she sang the parts of Charmion (Cléopâtre by Massenet) and Jean (Le Portrait de Manon by Massenet). She has interpreted Dorabella (Così fan tutte) in Tenerife, Oreste (La Belle Hélène) in Avignon, Annio (La Clemenza di Tito) in Montpellier, Louise (Les Mousquetaires au couvent by Louis Varney) and Brigitte (Le Domino Noir by Auber) at the Opéra Comique and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) in Firenze. At the Opéra National de Lyon, she was La Chatte and L’Ecureuil (L’Enfant et les sortilèges), Isolier (Le Comte Ory) and Cunégonde (Le Roi Carotte) in two new productions by Laurent Pelly.

Since 2009, she has been performing in recitals with the pianist Lucas Buclin as Duo Almage (http://duo-almage.com). In 2012, they recorded pieces by Poulenc, Aboulker, Wolf, Britten and Strauss for the Société Vaudoise des Amis de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

On the opera stage, she sang recently at the Paris National Opera in La Traviata, Carmen, Cavalleria rusticana, La Clemenza di Tito and Yvonne, princesse de Bourgogne, at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and the Opéra national de Lyon in Falstaff. She has also made acclaimed debuts as Charlotte (Werther) in Tenerife and Marseille, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Opéra de Lyon, Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra de Marseille, Carmen at the Opéra de Dijon and the Opéra national du Rhin, Concepcion (L’Heure espagnole) with Opera Lombardia, Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Opéra de Lille, Le Prince (Cendrillon) at the Opéra national de Lorraine, in Moscow and at the Opéra national de Paris, the title part of La Périchole at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, at the Opéra de Dijon and at the Opéra de Toulon, Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Opéra national de Paris, Gisèle in Guercoeur by Magnard at the Opéra national du Rhin.

In concert, she has performed recently in Lakmé with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Shéhérazade with the Orchestre Régional Bayonne Côte Basque and with the Nürnberg Symphony Orchestra, in Maître Péronilla by Offenbach and Pelléas et Mélisande (Mélisande) with the Orchestre National de France, in Mozart and Berlioz programs with the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, in La Princesse de Trébizonde with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, in Grisélidis with the Orchestre de l’Opéra National Montpellier Occitanie in Montpellier and at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, in Ô mon bel inconnu with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Romeo) at the Opéra de Toulon.

Among her projects this season: Les Brigands (Fragoletto) at the Opéra National de Paris, La Périchole (title part) at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Carmen (title part) at the Opéra de Lausanne, and in concert the Irish Melodies by Berlioz with the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Aquitaine, Éros in Psyché by Ambroise Thomas at the Müpa in Budapest with the Palazzetto Bru-Zane, Das Lied von der Erde by Mahler with the Orchestre National Avignon Provence.
