Born in Nantes, Philippe Talbot started his vocal studies in his hometown. In 2008, he was rewarded with the Prize of Most promising tenor at the Pavarotti International Voice Competition in Modena.

He is greatly appreciated in the great French repertoire (Hippolyte et Aricie / title role) at the Capitole in Toulouse, Béatrice et Benedict / Bénédict in Luxembourg, Lakmé / Gérald…). Philippe Talbot is also engaged by the most prestigious opera houses to sing the Mozart repertoire (Ferrando / Così fan tutte at Deutsche oper am Rhein, Don Ottavio /Don Giovanni at the Peralada Festival…) and Italian bel canto (Almaviva Barbiere di Siviglia at the San Carlo in Napoli and at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Ramiro Cenerentola in Bremen and Enschede…). His passion for theatre also brought him success in the opéra-comique repertoire, where his recent performances have been unanimously praised by the public and by the critics (Piquillo in La Périchole at the New York City Opera, Les Brigands, Fortunio and Ali-Baba at the Opéra Comique, Orphée aux Enfers in Marseille…).

Among the most memorable productions in which he took part, let us mention Platée (title part) at the Opéra de Paris conducted by Marc Minkowski and at the Semperoper Dresden in the staging of Rolando Villazón, Rigoletto (Duca) in Athens, Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze (Fadinard) in Nantes, Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Berlin, Luxemburg, Marseille and Saint-Étienne, Les Pêcheurs de perles at the Florida Grand Opera Miami, Lucia di Lammermoor at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, La Vie parisienne in Lausanne and Bordeaux, Trompe-la-Mort (world creation by Luca Francesconi), Les Contes d’Hoffmann, L’Heure espagnole and Gianni Schicchi at the Opéra de Paris, Le Comte Ory (title part) at the Opéra Comique and the Opéra Royal de Versailles, La Belle Hélène (Pâris) in Nancy, Orphée et Eurydice (Orphée) at the Opéra de Lausanne, Guillaume Tell (Le Pêcheur) at the Opéra de Lyon, Le Postillon de Lonjumeau in Rouen, La Chauve-Souris and La Dame Blanche at the Opéra Comique, Mignon (Wilhelm Meister) at theOpéra Royal de Wallonie.

In concert, he sang Les Danaïdes by Salieri in Versailles and at the Theater an der Wien with Christophe Rousset, Dinorah (Corentin) by Meyerbeer at the Berliner Philharmonie, Hamlet (Laërte) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Festival de Radio France, Moïse et Pharaon (Aménophis) in Marseille, La Périchole (Piquillo) with Les Musiciens du Louvre at the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier, Les Indes Galantes at the Festival de Beaune and the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in patria with I Gemelli in Metz, at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and in Geneva, L’Italiana in Algeri (Lindoro) in Versailles, at the Nuits musicales d’Uzès and the Festival de Beaune, Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass de with the Ensemble Matheus, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle at the Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam…

He was thus able to collaborate with directors such as Christopher Alden, Jérôme Deschamps, Moshe Leiser et Patrice Caurier, Macha Makeïeff, Damiano Michieletto, Laurent Pelly, Emilio Sagi… and to sing under the baton of Roberto Abbado, Paolo Arrivabeni, Emmanuelle Haïm, Louis Langrée, Enrique Mazzola, Marc Minkowski, Kent Nagano, Maxime Pascal, Carlo Rizzi, Roberto Rizzi-Brignoli, Pascal Rophé, Christophe Rousset, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Alberto Zedda…

Recently he sang La Périchole (Piquillo) at the Opéra Comique, in Toulon, Dijon and Tours, Lakmé (Gérald) in Liège, Armide by Lully in Tokyo, Le Domino Noir (Horace) at the Opéra de Lausanne, Zémire et Azor (Azor) and L’Heure Espagnole at the Opéra Comique, Béatrice et Bénédict (Bénédict) in Nantes, Rennes and Angers, Les Boréades in concert in Madrid, Alcina with Les Epopées in concert in Versailles, Les Brigands at the Opéra de Paris, Le Comte Ory in Québec, La Belle Hélène at the Opéra de Tours…
